Learn about life as a Duke studenT
Explore the Duke Engineering Quad with a friendly and expert Pratt tour guide! You'll receive an overview of our study and research facilities, visit labs and classrooms, and learn about the unique and innovative features available to engineering students at Duke.
Pratt Walking Tours:
- Are led by knowledgeable, friendly student guides
- Last approximately one hour
- Are limited to 20 participants total, and four per sign-up group
We have structured the schedule of The Pratt Walking Tour so that you may also participate in the Undergraduate Admissions information session/campus tour on most weekdays. Separate registration for the Duke Undergraduate Tour is required. Please note: Visitors should allow at least two hours with Admissions as well as a 15-minute walk between buildings.
Our undergraduate student guides are very knowlegeable – but please allow them to refer you to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions for answers to questions they may not be able to answer. You can reach the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at 919-684-3214.

What if it rains?
The Duke campus sees an average 220 days of sunshine a year! So there's a great chance you'll see our campus at its sunny best. We do continue to give tours when it rains. Our campus is still beautiful and our guides still friendly and knowledgable, no matter the weather. All that is typically needed is an umbrella for walking between buildings.
In Case of Severe Weather
When severe weather threatens, timely and detailed university-wide notices are posted to the DukeAlert website. Duke Alert will tell you whether the campus is operating on modified schedule and whether classes are canceled. The Pratt Walking Tour is canceled when Duke classes are canceled.
Send any weather-related questions to Lauren Stulgis at email@example.com or 919-660-5442.
Schedule a Group Tour
Have a group with five or more people? Please contact Lauren Stulgis directly, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 919-660-5442, to discuss options for a separate group tour of the engineering campus.
