Professional Organization Memberships

The Duke ECE Diversity Initiative supports our students’ engagement in nationally-recognized professional organizations for women and minorities in engineering. Any eligible ECE student may request reimbursement for basic college, graduate, or professional membership fees for local or national chapters of the following organizations:

  • ACM-W (Association for Computing Machinery’s Women in Computing
  • AISES (American Indian Science and Engineering Society)
  • AWC (Association for Women in Computing)
  • IEEE WIE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers - Women in Engineering)
  • MAES (Mexican American Engineers and Scientists)
  • NAMEPA (National Association of Multicultural Engineering Program Associates)
  • NOGLSTP (National Organization of Gay and Lesbian Scientists and Technical Professionals)
  • NSBE (National Society of Black Engineers)
  • SHPE (Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers)
  • SWE (Society of Women Engineers)
  • WEPAN (Women in Engineering ProActive Network)

 
Please submit reimbursement requests to the ECE DGSA. If you would like to request reimbursement for an organization not listed, please make your request to the ECE DGSA.
